I had just stumbled across doggie door the other day. We have a 14 week old Samoyed puppy and I was so happy to find such a wealth of information. I had tried to register and nothing was happening. Now I know why!!! I am so glad that this site is here for I have so many questions about our pup. By the way her name is Misty and she is just the cutest things. Unfortunately she loves to bite!!

I hope to find lots of helpful info here.

Welcome Ann, a lot of valuable information on posts and articles was lost in the doggiedoor.com crash, however, the knowledge we got from them is still here, in our heads :D So don't worry, if we learned something in doggiedoor we will be happy to share with you...

Regarding bites, your puppy is really young and you have to teach her bite inhibition, whenever she bites you you will scream OUCH in a very pitchy voice and turn your back at her, ignore her for 30 sec or so and then return and redirect her attention to anything else... this takes time but its worth it... and about biting other things, get her a lot of chewing toys (nylabones are great for tough chewers) and whenever she is biting or chewing something else redirect her attention to a toy and reward, if you find her chewing her own toys, reward (praise, treats, whatever she likes best).
