They were too big to be posted here, so if your browser is slow, you might have to wait awhile.

Nah, Charlie's eyes are blue and brown, he is a husky/spaniel mix so he got a blue eye, and no hes not blind in it. People seem to like asking that for some reason...

I noticed your dog it touching a stick in the one picture. Is he going after that naturally or did you teach him the command "TOUCH"? I would love to teach my dog to 'touch' things with his nose but have no idea how.

Eric

Even though i have not really trained dogs to do different things other than a friend's rott to sit up and beg...

you might try this for the touch. I will assume you already have him on NILIF, and that he will sit for treats and such.

you are wanting him to touch with his nose what ever you have in your hand, so you might have him sit and let him touch a treat with his nose, when he does get him use to the word touch when he does that particular action, then give him the treat after a few moment of his nose to it. once he gets this down then move it to touching your hand and getting rewarded with something when he does it on command..and work up from there

just a suggestion, i have not tried to train my two chis much for things like that but i have had luck with that with other dogs i have had to get them to do, sit up and beg and other things.

The shepherd naturally goes after sticks, he has a high level of prey drive and is extreme in trying to get it, but Charlie I did teach to touch, only with his paw not his nose. He is fairly smart so I taught him paw and then I would put his paw on something (I used a target stick at first) and say touch then I would reward him. It took about a half hour for him to catch on and then he did it whenever I asked and on whatever I asked.

Thanks, He looks like that most of the time, only his tounge is usually covered in dirt and debris!

lol, yes... Melody is like that too. Her mouth is ALWAYS open, so you can tell if she was eating dirt or not :D

Dirt isnt what he usually eats. Usually its sticks. He has also learned to let himself out of the gate, and is teaching himself to open the back door as well!!

They are sooo cute!

There must be something delicious in dirt and sticks that we just don't understand!
