Well, my Sammy is a mutt. We suspect he is half Chow-Chow and half Australian Shepherd (or Retriever).

Jake was half Black Lab with Coon Hound and some Pit Bull thrown into the mix.

We have no proof of anything...seeing as how he was from the shelter...but the more research I do on the White Shepherds...I am convinced that there is nothing else in him. I will still say mutt though, because if there were anything in him, I would have to say lab...his tempermant is very similar.

Nalu is a mutt!!! I've been told he is "definitely" about 20 different breeds by everyone he meets - and some real extremes too - from daschund to irish setter, from chocolate lab to cocker spaniel, from terrier to golden retriever, etc. This list goes on.

He's just a great mixed mutt!!

Max (Maximus) is a 4yr old Pit bull Terrier and the best dog I have ever owned, wouldn't never be without a pit bull in my life going forward.

Dakota is a 6yr Mutt (Lab/Rottie/Pit bull)

You know definition of Mutt = Dog that will live forever. Some reason Mutts are are very durable dogs I think because with the little bit of this and little bit of that from each dog.

as an owner of a pedigree gsd, i can tell u that the temperment is a very docile and loving one as a family pet. where i am white gsd's are known to have the better temperment:D (just thought i'd stick that in

He actually had just had his first haircut in that picture. Otherwise, it is REALLY wild and punkish!! The rest of the family prefers the 'natural' look now that we've tried a haircut. I like the wild hair, but I do like being able to see his eyes when it's cut like now. My teenage son, whose own hair hangs in his eyes too often, LOVES the hair in Spanky's eyes!!

Hee-hee-hee, Goldens are truly wonderful. I am biased of course! I can see why you'd want a German Shepherd as well...they are wonderful, too.

Warning: Please put down your yummy snack while reading the rest of this post.

One thing to keep in mind about Goldens...depending on how you keep their coat. Ours are kept natural and do not have a "show" cut. Therefore, the lovely hair that dangles around their lovely bottoms (their panties) make a lovely carpet for poop! Mental note to self: always check the hind for brown hanger-oners before coming into house from potty duty.

I can't beleive I haven't posted in this thread before! Is the list up to date? Add one more to the mutt tally. Sailor is a 'purebred mutt' too! He must have some Shihtzu (spelling?) or Havanese or Terrier of some sort in him, but who knows!

I would bet money that Sailor has quite a bit of shih tzu in him. As a matter of fact, when he got his haircut, I was amazed at how much he looks like my Zoey, and the mostly black coloring he has, although not as common as the black and white or tan and white, is very tzu as well. I think I remember from some of your postings that the character trait "stubborn" has come up? Very shih tzu also. Whatever else he has in him, he is adorable.

Thanks, I think he's pretty adorable too. I would agree mostly Shih Tzu too, but you wouldn't beleive how many people have emailed me after seeing his picture (the one I have as my avatar) and said he looks like a Havanese. I am on Dogster and have him as 'breed unknown', and at least once a week (or more!) I get an email from someone telling me he looks Havanese. It doesn't matter one bit to me, I love him no matter what he is! His mom is kind of 'salt-and-pepper' (black with some silver hairs every now and then) with a little white, and his one sibling was totally cream coloured. Not sure who his daddy was. All the little doggies at the place he was at were kinda shaped like him, some a little shorter, some a little longer, etc.

Thanks. Yeah, when they blow their coats, we breath hair. It's really only bad if we forget to vacuum for a couple of weeks.

the biggest problem is that their coats include tan, white, and black, so nothing we wear can hide the fur.

I have a Golden Retriever named Summer.

She is my only dog right now. My last dog was a Brittany that I got from rescue and the others were mixes. One of my favorites was from my childhood. Her name was Mimsey and she was half Cocker Spaniel and half Labrador Retriever. She was extremely smart and pretty!

I love my Summer. She has been so much fun to train and she is a real sweetheart!

She is still young. Summer turns one next week.

We just got a Siberian Husky puppy. His name is Mooshkie. He has a wooly coat, and my mother (he belongs to her) has no idea what shes in for exactly. Ive told her, and shes fine with it, but she'll just have to wait and see!

Daisy photographs beautifully! Now you know where this is going :D why not put her picture in the photo contest? She is a beautiful girl. Is that an Easy Walk harness she is wearing? I use one on Linus (who walks pretty good--but that's still a work in progress) particularly when we are walking in an area where he might see other dogs.

We welcomed a family member into our home a fortnight ago: now a 12-week old border collie/blue heeler, Max.

It's paws are much larger than what is considered normal, and it has an absolutely cheeky grin that one couldn't help but have a chuckle at. Now, some other habits: it loves biting hands (when you're trying to hold its paws), chewing on hard wood, and having afternoon siestas.

I'm sure he'd be jumping up and down if there was a way of telling him about this forum with its multitude of dog owners and their K9 companions!

My Emma is a standard dachshund according to the Vet, she came from a shelter so has no papers, but she is certainly the picture of a black and tan doxie.
