Here is my first attempt to upload a picture of my new puppy.
Her name is Tayla and she is 5 weeks old in the picture. I pick her up in one week.

Thanks, I will. GSP stands for German Shorthair Pointer and I'm actually getting her from a German breeder as well. I hope she understands english!! :D

Congrats on the new pup. She is a cutie! :)
But why are you getting her at only 6 weeks? I thought they were'nt suppose to be sold untill 8 weeks old if they were a good breeder.

My dad bred registered GSP's when I was a kid. Always kept them til 8 weeks. They are great dogs, but sometimes too high strung for my liking. I thought all dogs were like that, and so I became a cat person. Then I met some labs and realized that there are mellow dogs out there too. All I can say is be sure to get your little one lots of exercise! My sister had one who lived to be 16.

Don't worry I don't have her home yet. I pick her up in another week. She will be 8 weeks by then. I am aware of how much energy they have and that's one of the reasons I picked GSP. My husband and I love to go for long walks, runs and bike rides. I wanted to make sure the dog we got would be able to go with us. I'm really looking forward to working with her.

Thats really good to hear. I thought since your pup was only 5 weeks in the pic and you said you get her next week that you would get her at 6 weeks. Sorry about that, and have fun with your pup when you get her!!

My uncle had a German Shorthaired Pointer named Maggie and she was a fantastic dog. He used her for hunting - trained her himself - and she and my cousin grew up together. They definitely need a lot of exercise, but if you get one that's like Maggie was, you'll have a very loyal friend for years to come.

Congrats on the new pup! She is a doll! I love the GSP. They are a little too energetic for me, but they are the neatest dogs! There was a full grown, purebred in the pound here not too long before we got Boomer, and he was the nicest dog. He was enormous though!
Congrats again, and we will be looking forward to lots of pics when the baby comes home!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I look forward to all the good times I will have with her and even the not so fun times. ;) I will keep you all posted on her progress and I'm sure I'll ask many many questions!
