Well at doggiedoor you guys helped me with Lucas and getting him in the tub. It use to be a BIG struggle. He wouldn't go down the hallway and we had to pick him up to get him in. When we got him in he would try and climb out and it was just a big, messy struggle the entire way.
Well I have been putting his food in the hallway, slowly moving it closer to the bathroom. It has gotten to him eating in the tub. And when I gave him a bath today he got in the tub all by himself!!! With absolutely NO help from me!!
It's all thanks to you guys who helped me!! He still struggles a bit while in there, but not nearly as bad as before and it makes it so much easier for him to get in by himself and not run at the sight of towels and running water.
Anyways just wanted to say thanks and that if your patient this method does work.

Ashley, one more thing you might try to make your pup more comfortable in the tub is to put down a rubber mat in the tub. I know that both my dogs did not like the slipping and sliding that goes on in a wet tub. Even an old towel in the bottom of the tub seemed to help a little and made them less squirmy.

Good Job and well done with the slow de-sensitization. :)

Thanks Mario!!

There is already a big rubber matt down that covers the entire bottom of the tub. I think it's the confined space because we have shower slidiing doors that cover half the outside edge of the tub when opened. I would bath him outside which would be easier for me and probably him, but it's too cold and rains all the time. :(

Oh I forgot to mention that he sat down in the tub!!! I was sooo amazed and proud of him!! This is something that he would have NEVER done before, so I think he does feel more comfortable now. Just a bit more of the desensitzing and we'll be all set :D
