I was wondering if anyone knew how harmful these steroids can be. My vet i went to injected my dog before i really knew what was happening, and ever since he's seems to be "low" not like himself, and panting alot. I just switched his food due to a yeast infection all over his body, and i know his immune system was already low. Any ideas?

I googled cortisone/side effects and came up with this site. It looks like it has a lot of info. if you scroll down.

I also checked in the book The Allergy Solution for Dogs by Shawn Messonnier for cotisone, and he dedicates a section to their side-effects. They are as follows:
Common short term side-effects include an increase in appetite, an increase in water intake, and an increase in urine output. Long term side effects can include the deterioration of many vital body organs which will in turn damage the quality of life of your pet. Long term steroid usage has also been proven to make artificial changes in liver enzymes, white blood cell values, and thyroid tests which can lead to easy misdiagnoses of other problems.
Under long term effects he also lists heart and cardiovascular system problems (high blood pressure). Kidney and liver disease, skin irritation (infections, excessive brusing, hair loss, thinning of the skin). Hormonal and reproductive irregularity resulting in infertility, Gastrointestinal problems, Immune system suppression, Metabolic imblances that result in blood fat, fartty liver disease, and obesity, Musculoskeletal weakness leading to osteoporosis, behavioral problems (aggression, depression, hyperactivity, lethargy). Eye problems that lead to glaucoma and cataracts, respiratory issues, and neurological diseases such as seizures or paralysis.
I actually own a dog who has suffered horrible allergies, and I have never used cortisone with him, and Sonny is doing great! Many vets will try to convince you that steriods are your only choice, but that is simply untrue!

My dog was on steroids for two weeks and he was very mopey. Once he started coming off of them he returned to his usual self. As I am sure you are aware, pay extra attention to his water bowl and make sure its filled. :)
