We have a new fenced yard, we just got due to our pup being 5mo old. I was wondering if anyone had ideas on what to leave outside with her to keep her occupied. She has just started to dig, so I am afraid if I don't give her enough things to do she may get bored and start with destructive behavior in the back yard. Of course this will be on nice days, when I am at work. Any suggestions?

The suggestion I've heard most often is to give her a special place where she can dig. A small area of sand/dirt mixed. you could hide toys or treats in there, and let her know it's ok to dig in that area. Hopefully, she won't want to dig anywhere else.
Anytime you leave a dog outside by itself, you have no control over what she does, so it's hard to correct unwanted behavior. I know a lot of people on the previous forum did not condone leaving any dog outside by itsself for a long period of time. You never know what could happen.

Yeah, that's what I read too about giving a dog a dirt area he can dig in. For some dogs it's very natural to dig.
I found a dog in front of my house one day, and called the number on the tags and at the end of the day, the person called me to say it was their dog I had. Turns out her lab mix dug under her fence, because she lets him have access to the yard when she is not home.
While he was in my yard, I gave him a huge rawhide bone, and I've never seen it again, lol. Maybe when I start planting tomatoes this year, I'll find it there in the dirt part of my yard :D
What kind of dog do you have?
