I was looking the member list and I'm so happy to see so many known names of old members and advisors of DD... its so great to continue to have a site were we all can share our dog issues!!!! plus, we get to make new friends!!!! Anyway, I was feeling kind of weird when DD went down, but now I'm happy to have this website and all of you around!!!!
I just wanted to say thanks, I have had lot of dogs in my life but this last one (beagle) has come to reeducate me about dog ownership and parenthood!!! :P

Andrea, ( that was your name in DD right? ) I echo your sentiments...I hope to see more experts from DD join this website. Their help, caring and advice was so valuable to me ( being a first time furbabies mom ) as I'm sure it was to a lot of people.

Anyway, a BIG THANKS to Colleen for setting this new site.

That's a good point actually. What I really liked about the last couple of days of doggiedoor, was that people started posting a lot of pics of themselves with their dogs in the photo competition. It was really nice to see what people looked like! Maybe we should start an owners photo thread, or a competition to see who looks most like their dog! :D

I just wish everyone would put where they are from when registering. It helps with some of the questions if you know what their weather is. They don't have to put city & state. Or just put state. Or, like I did...Suburb of xxxx. I got to thinking, I really don't want people to know what city I live in with my whole name registered.

I also have concerns about being registered with my full name and including where I live,so if you don't mind Jill,I'm going to borrow your suburb of xxx idea.I think it's brilliant,it still lets people know where you are and in many cases would be more precise than just putting in the state,as many of us live in the larger states.

I put Chicago, IL but I live in the suburbs of Chicago. I figured I would just use the big city name as people know where Chicago is, but noone would have a clue if I named my suburb.

I put Central America because my country is so small its difficult for somebody to know were it is... although is kind of famous because we have a lot of people living in the US... I live in Guatemala, the first country of Central America which is just below Mexico... we have tropical weather, no seasons like you know them, we get dry summer, rainy winter, dry winter...

Anyway, we are a small country with a lot of people and a lot of dogs, we have a huge problem with stray dogs... but we also have huge problems in a lot of other areas, like social, political and economical issues, but that's nothing nice to discuss here... I "belong" to the working middle-class and live in a rather nice neighborhood (one of the few there are).

Anyway, I just wanted to give you a little of my background...
