:dogrun: I got a quick question for anybody that can help me. I have two dogs one is a full breed Border Collie and the other is a foxhound lab mix. They are both about two years old. My problem is that one of them keeps going pee in the same place and I think I know which one but I can never catch her in the act. They both usually let me now when they have to go out but after I shampoo the carpet, she pee in that one spot. The spot is at the top of the stairs. Is there anything I can put on that spot to make her stop peeing there? Please help me!

Are you using one of those "enzymatic breakdown" formulas to clean the carpet? If not, you should use one of those because they breakdown the urine scent much better than just ordinary soap or carpet cleaner can.
Are you able to gate off the area where the dog keeps peeing or perhaps set up a blockade type thing to keep her away from that one spot? That may also help.

I don't know if this will work with dogs or not (maybe one of the 'experts' can speak to this). When my male cat marked under one of my chairs after the rescue came into the house (he was in the bathroom but the big cat knew he was there) my sister suggested either putting a litterbox there so if he wanted to 'go' there he knew it was unacceptable to go on the floor, or else putting something really good there like his food dish. My house is really old and the tiles on the floor don't quite meet so there is a good chance some of the pee got under the tiles. Otherwise there are some awesome cleaners that take the smell away completely from floor or carpet. My understanding is that an animal will continue to pee there if they can smell it.
