I don't know where to post this. Since Lola was payed two and half weeks ago she has had diarrhea on and off. The first time we thought was because of the pain medication. The second time I took her into the vet and she was put on medication and low residue food for 4 days. She was fine for a few days and then it came back. The next day she was fine and a couple days later she had it again. Right now she's on hamburger and rice and I'm trying to switch her back on to nutro. Each time she's had it it's been late at night and is gone by the next morning. She's been good for about 3 days so far but yesterday I mixed in a little moist food with the hamburger and rice and she got diarrhea again. So today I mixed in a smaller amount of dry kibble and she seems to be okay except her poop is a little soft. Is there anything else I can do for her at home? I don't want to put her back on medication, and it's not as bad as it was the first week. Other than that she's been fine. She's eating and drinking, has lots of energy. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be because her food has been switched so much? (regualar to low residue to regular to hamburger and rice) Or the stress on her organs from the surgery? I don't know what else to do.

I remember back on DD (we always seem to refer back there), for diarrhea, they used canned pumpkin (no spices) to help. Just a spoonful. It's hard to say why she has it. It could just be the stress from the operation. Does she actually have diarrhea, or just loose stools?

When my dogs had a bout with diarrhea I gave them a mixture of boiled breast of chicken and white rice and a 1/4 teaspoon of 100% can pumpkin ( not the pie filler ), kept them on it till their stools returned to normal. Also, I did not feed them any treats till they were better. Perhaps, you can give Lola some of her kibble for treats? Hope she feels better soon.

Thank you for your responses!! It might be just loose stools, I'm not sure how to tell the difference between the two so I just figured it was diarrhea. Yesterday I started mixing in her kibble and she seems to be doing good on that so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
