Licking his chops!!

okay,
when I was eating dinner Lucas comes over and starts licking his chops and making a clunk noise with his teeth! I thought it was so strangs cause I know licking is a calming signal, but this was more like "I want food so if I act like I'm starving I will get some!!" I couldn't help but go awww, but then Chloe came over and gave me that puppy look so I told them to get in their spot before I got tempted to give them some.
Does anyone elses dogs do that? Or know why they do that?

Nala does the sad look when I'm eating, she will sit and go down right besides me and look up at me with those sad hound eyes and move her tail, waiting for me to give her some... of course, at the beginning it was so hard to say no, but now that I've got used to her "ways", I will just sit there, eventually she'll get bored of waiting and go somewhere else!!! :p

If we are watching tv and decide to have popcorn, Finnegan will sit with that look of intense concentration, like he's mentally willing the popcorn to jump into his mouth. (eric knows that look with Bailey). And eventually it does fly into his mouth!!(with some help from us) :D

oh yeah! chloe gets in your face, literally! i have to tell her down and then she just stares at you all the way until the very last bite. bailey will come up to you and give you the puppy stare but he gets bored after ignoring him, so he goes off to play or whatever. one time though my husband was eating a sandwich sitting on the sofa and bailey came over and jumped up and took a bite. my husband was impressed that he could jump so high for such a small pup. LOLOLOL

well i have to say that i know the look, I feed mine their evening meal when i do, but Tika will still come to see what i am having.

Now a time or two (since i don't sit at a table since it is just me) she has gotten on the couch quickly and stolen something off the plate and then runs, like a snatch and grab artist....

Maggie will be staring at me eating, I can see it out of the corner of my eye but when I turn to look at her she turns her head forward really fast like,
"I'm not watching you!" It cracks me up!
