WOW – How do I even begin to thank you for providing this wonderful site? What happened to DoggieDoor is so catastrophic to so many people across the world. It brought together dog lovers from every nook and cranny around the globe. It increased the quality of life for dogs for over 10 years and many years to come. The information that was provided and shared was priceless.
I would like to send this as a thanks to everyone that was involved with DoggieDoor and I am confident we can build this site back to what it was.

Thank you Colleen for setting up this site--a lot of work I am sure. I really relied on Doggy Door as did so many others and look forward to seeing other Doggy door members here. I will check my computer at home and see if I have some of the articles there saved on my hard drive. Now, is there anything any of us can do to help you Colleen?

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I really loved DoggieDoor.com too and knew that many people would be sad to find it was gone. This forum is something I could do right away, but I'm considering moving it to it's own site. If that happens...I'll probably need to solicit for some donations, but I'll be sure to keep you guys posted!
Thanks!

Doggiedoor.com was a lifesaver for me. I had little knowledge about dogs (food, training, problems, etc.) and the website served as a wealth of information to me a new dog owner. I know my rescue dog greatly benefited from all that I learned from all of you.
I GREATLY appreciate everyone's replies to my frequent posts and all of the great advice and suggestions that I regularly received. I am also extremely thankful to the experts volunteering and sharing all of their expertise. Hopefully, they will join in on this too (or the new site) as it gets going again.

doggiedoor was such a valuable site that words cannot describe it. eric is so right about how it bought dog lovers from around the world together. i found it amazing when i read a thread and it said "i'm from Japan or Brazil". i am very grateful that Colleen has taken such quick action to build this site for us doggiedoor fanatics. if you need donations please do not feel afraid to ask, i can bet it wouldn't be a problem to get them. i know for sure i wouldn't have a problem giving up some dough for such valuable advice and support.
let us know and again thank you. :D

I see you posted my e-mail on the main site but I just want to say thanks again!
One question though regarding the old content. When you do a site search for something using Google you can still find the posts. Does this mean they are still hiding on a server somewhere?
For example, try this, go to the Google homepage then type in "boxer site:www.doggiedoor. com" without the quotes. You will see that it brings up results, which I can only imagine means they are still out there because I am sure Google didn't cache everything, or did it?

What a great suplement for doggiedoor. I hope they get it up and running again soon. As for this site, please let me know if there is anything that i can do to keep this up and running. I was having withdrawal. Its so great to see all these familiar faces. I missed you these past 48 hours lol :D

Actually Google does cache everything every so often. That's how I found the topic headings from the old site. I haven't tried getting the articles that way, but if they are out there, I suppose that could work. I'm waiting on approval from DoggieDoor to post old articles. Thanks!

Thank you so very much Colleen!!! I wish I could give you a great big hug! But since I can't here's a little virtual one. ((((((Colleen)))))
After not being able to get connected with DoggieDoor the past couple of days I finally got the crash message this morning and was shocked. Today at work, all I could think of was how am I going to connect with my DoggieDoor buddies. Even though I am more of a lurker than a poster, I enjoy hearing about everyone's furbabies so much. But more than that, being a new dog owner, I've come to depend on the invaluable resource that is DoggieDoor.com. I didn't realize how much I depended on it until it wasn't there. I'm not sure why I clicked the DoggieDoor icon when I got home from work today, but I am so glad I did. I actually shed some tears when I realized that I would be able to connect with all of you again. I can only imagine the devastion that those wonderful, caring people who have worked to so hard to make DoggieDoor what it is/was  are feeling. You are all in my thoughts and I will keep you in my prayers. Thank you all for your sharing, and caring.

Hi Stefie,
Thanks and I'm so glad you found us! I think if you register and make sure you are signed in under your name, you won't have to enter your name each time!

Thanks Colleen, I did register but I guess I was just so excited to connect with my fellow dog lovers again that I forgot to log-in. I also didn't register my whole name. I was Stefie Calder at DD but am just plain ole Stefie here.  Thanks again for setting up this site and doing it so quickly. You are pretty amazing!!!

Hi everyone,
I was devasted when I read of Doogiedoor website's crash. I learned so much valuable information from the advisors, articles and all the members. I hope they can bring it back.
Collen, thank you for creating this site... a place where we can all come together again to share, learn and contribute on how to best care for our beloved four legged companions.
Good luck Collen. Let me know when and how I can contribute some money to keep this site going and growing.

Thank you so much!!!! Doggiedoor was a lifeline for me as I train my first dog in many years without one. The site moderators along with members (especially Fransesca) helped me through Audrey's broken leg. The knowledge and support Doggiedoor has provided to me and others is immense! I was devastated at the news of the crash as we all were!

Thanks everyone. I'm glad that I was able to get this forum up and running, seeing how I was suffering from the same withdrawal.
I'm going to move the forum to its own website and get service for it, so if you'd like to make a small donation, there is a Paypal button under the General Info topic!
Thanks!

What I sent to crash@doggiedoor...
Well, where do I even begin? I have had dogs my whole life and used various training techniques learned from my parents and their parents and others (and some things I thought were good ideas at the time). With Aussie and the help of doggiedoog, I really feel like I have the dog I want with training techniques I am happy with. With the crash of doggiedoor I really feel that my road will be different. I will take what I have learned and hopefully raise Aussie in the right direction, but the day-to-day support as well as reading the issues of others (and saying, yes, we have that problem too!) have been invaluable in this process. The getting up 3 times a night with a wee-baby. The nipping of hands and the "yelping" in response. Teaching through positive methods and ignoring the negative actions of Aussie (much to the dismay of many of our friends and fanily). Chewing whatever (for us, walls)
The assurance that I am on the right track. That is what I will miss the most. We take dogs as our companion and they become our children (when my partner says we are invited somewhere, my first question is "can we bring the dog") and our friends (consoling us when there are problems, loving us regardless of how our hair looks). But often times the nipping and the barking and the chewing and the pooping make enjoying the process to child and companion a difficult road. At Doggiedog we were assured that these were just bumps in the path. And we could take solace in the fact that we were not the only ones. And we could get advise from trained professionals on how to "fix" the issue.
I would like to thank all of the advisors on the work they did. For me personally, Sam for helping me get on the right path "medically" with my dog. And Laura, for being just too silly for words sometimes but very helpful none the less. And Susan for advise on how to supplement that medical advise from Sam to create a healthy and happy pooch. And finally Melissa (we have almost fixed the waking early problem). Thank you to all of the advisors for your open ears and freindly and educational advice.
And I will miss, though I barely know them and have only been at Dd for a short while, many of the posters. Fin's mom (Jill) for giving me hope of what Aussie can become (despite the occasionally bad story, the pictures more than make up for it). Andrea, for offering a non-US/UK perspective of how raising a dog is different. Deborah, for seeming to have great advice, but also having problems (seems like a back handed insult, but it is greatly assuring to know even those who seem on top of their game have issues as well). Well, I could go on and on, but I will not.
Thank you again for providing a great place on the Internet. I have never been to a site where there is little/no rudeness. Perhaps an occasionally insistance on the dangers of shock/choke collars, but every "insistance" is with the best interest of our friends in mind (and heart). I hope there is something you can do to revive the website. I have been a paying donor, but another donation from me would be the least I could do. I do think there is valuable information lost, but it is all recoverable.
Thanks again and here's to hoping we see each other again.
