When I take my dog Buddy (8 months) out for car rides he gets sick if I leave him alone in the car even for a few minutes. He doesn't get sick while he's alone but 5 to 10 minutes after I get back in the car. He doesn't get sick if I'm in the car with him no matter how long we're out, but if I get out of the car he gets sick. My mom told me that a friend said it's separation anxiety. Does anyone have any suggestions for things I can do so I can take him out and leave him alone in the car for a few minutes without him getting sick?

Do you think a stuffed Kong would help? You could give it to him while you need to be gone and maybe it will keep him occupied. Not sure as I'm not familiar with separation anxiety.

My rottie does great in the car, but the new pup, Oliver, gets sick most of the time. It doesn't matter if he's eaten. Last time he did fine on the way there, was fine on our park visit, then got sick just as we were getting out of the car back at home.

I'm not sure what to do, either. In my case, I don't think it's separation anxiety. I'd certainly welcome suggestions.
