I think the story about how we got our little Dusty is cute...so I'll share

I love animals, and me and my fiancee were playoing in petland one day and he calls my name and tells me that I am NOT allowed to look in the one cage....So of course I do, and I see the cutest little JRT sleeping on his back!SOOOOOOOOOOO cute! well we ended up playing with him the whole day, deciding if we were ready for a dog.....But we decided against it(only after we called our land lord and begged if we could have him and got turned down!)

So as sad as we were we moved on, and he got sold...

Then about a month later I was off work sick, and I got bored and went to the pet shop to play, and I couldn't believe it but the little puppy was back, as it turns out the people that bought him were allergic to him...and we played with him some more...

The next day I was really feeling bad (turns out I had a sinus infection..not fun!) And to make me feel better Jason(my fiancee) started making jokes about Jack Russell soup/stew and how it would make me feel better...and that if after we got the Jack Russell, I forgot that I wanted soup then we would be stuck with him!!

Well he had to go and run some arrends, and I used it as my opportunity to sneak out and get Dusty as he's now known....and apparently Jason was just joking and didn't really expect me to go get him  , but he wasen't that upset....although we did end up having to move because of him.....

But we love him soooooo much...

Okay maybe my story was a little to long but I thought it was cute!

oh yeah so one day we decided to put him in our big pot and take pictures...they couldn't have turned uot better!!!!

I love that story! I guess that's why my dog Jake has a thyroid problem and looks like a pot bellied pig. I should have called him Ham! And it's more than because of his weight - here's the story:

I had two dogs, and didn't need another one but really wanted one. Our older dog didn't travel well, and I thought Jessie deserved a traveling buddy. My husband didn't want another dog - he was dead set against it. In fact, a few months before, I had come home with a part St. Bernard puppy that was being given away in front of the grocery store with the rest of it's siblings. I had this idea that I could just put the puppy in the dog run with the other two dogs and ease Roger in to the idea - he didn't even have to know I had a puppy for a few days. What I had forgotten was that Roger was going through some gum surgery and was miserable. When I came through the house with the giant puppy slung over my shoulder, Roger was coming in behind me and I didn't even know it. He had come home from work feeling sick from his gum surgery. He took one look at that puppy and through a fit. He wanted me to take the puppy back but I told him if he didn't want the puppy he could go back down to the grocery store with it and see if the guy was even there. I still have pictures of this madman going down to the local Vons grocery store demanding the poor guy to take his puppy back. Fortunately, for Roger, the guy was still there!

Anyway, a few months later, we were at Radio Shack and Roger was determined he was going to buy another ham radio. He needed another ham radio like I needed another puppy. He was just getting prices that day, but I knew if he was looking he would be buying soon. As he was talking to the salesman, I told him that ham radio was going to cost him a puppy. That weekend I found an ad for free puppies and we went out and picked out shepherd/lab Jake. Roger also bought his new ham radio! Neither one of us could complain to the other about getting something that we didn't think we needed any more.

Way to go Cecile, that is NILIF working on humans...lol

i love both stories. The JRT soup would make anyone feel better with those adorable eyes loving you.

Well when i was still married, we had gone to the cemetary to do some genalogy work, me doing the work on his family. As i was at one headstone i saw this adorable puppy watching me. he was thin and had no hair and was covered in fleas. i called him over and that was it. We had two females at home, an austrian shepherd mix and a black lab. Well he followed me all over the cemetary. He slipped out the gates when we went to leave and my ex went to put him back and i set my foot down. So we took him home and he knew who to love, he was in my lap the whole way.

Got him home, bathed him and he just screamed and the girls were in the house going crazy. we doctored him for fleas and then set him down. He wandered around the yard and ate a little bit. My ex asked "so when you going to introduce him to the girls" and I bravely said "let them out". This little undernourished and hairless puppy thrust his head between my ankles and backed both girls down. They got along great. He gained weight quickly and became a 60 pound hound....named porky due to his coloring.
