I am looking for the highest quality dry food for my 6 month old Havanese.
I am going to give him adult food as I don't believe ( as does my vet ) that he doesn't need to be on puppy food anymore. ( high in fat )
I am researching a natural, human grade food called "Life's Abundance" that is shipped from Florida. It sounds great and is not expensive ( I am in California and the prices here are high to begin with )
I am also considering "Artemis" dog food.
I am looking for a food that is small in size as my puppy has a small mouth and is used to small size food.
Thanks.

randy, that is an interesting question. If you had no budget and could spend whatever you like on dog food, what is the best out there. I'm not impressed with Life's Abundance:

Here it is compared to other brands. I have short term memory, so I will have to go back to see what I did not like in Life's Abundance. I know I saw brewer's yeast and beat pulp.

I went back to take another look and saw "potato product". What the heck is that? It's not good from what I've heard, so already there are too many suspect ingredients in this food. Sometimes companies that make people food are left with debris and they sell it to put into hard food for dogs. Innova makes a very good product and Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul too. I'm no expert in hard food since I feed canned.
The main site is www.naturapet.com and it's the site that sells Innova which is very good and has a comparison chart. The link I posted above compared some better foods to Life's Abundance. Their site has other foods to compare to theirs, but they don't list all the good foods and 2/3 of the bad foods.

randy, Old Mother Hubbard is the company name for a product called Wellness:

I just don't know what size the hard food is????
Solid Gold makes a product called Wee Bit and it definetly has small bit pieces:

These are two good foods. You use their store locators to find out where they are sold. If you are lucky enough to have a store near you, they may have samples of those foods plus other high end foods to try.
