Haha! You've turned into one of those crazy doggy moms you once laughed at. I know the feeling! :p

Hi Patti!!
Welcome to doggie bag!! I thought the same thing when I used to see people talking to their dogs like babies and now I'm the same way  I hate going anywhere without Lola and try to take her everywhere, even if it's just for a ride in the car. I'm sure people now look at me and call me crazy but what can you do? Lola is a six month old pug/fox terrier cross and she can be a terror when it comes to some things as well (like meeting new people, she pretty much attacks anyone she sees, especially kids, with kisses and tries to jump all over them). Anyway I'm sure you'll find lots of good advice here and everyone is so nice!! You may be surprised at how much you have to offer other people, even just stories similar to someone else can really help. Sometimes I just need to hear that other people are going through the same thing to help me feel better about a situation. I know you'll enjoy it here as much as I do!!

add me to the list.. I am the same way with Cassie- she gets everything she wants and I try to take her everywhere I go.. I have even gotten approval from the sportsplex here to take her to the ball field with me b/c my 2 boys are starting ball next week and I dont think its fair to her to have to stay at home alone while I am at work (I come home for lunch) and then stay alone until 7 or 8PM... I'd be a nervous wreck! Every weekend she goes everwhere we go except to restaurants & stores of course and I find myself coming up with reasons to stay at home.. lol.. Welcome- I am new here as well and I love these ladies already- they are a fountain of knowledge!

Hi Patti
I too have been bitten by the dog bug!!!! i hve always wanted a dog for as long as i can remember and over the years was temporarily pacifyed with second class substitutes, ie, goldfish, hamsters (though still loved and cared for!!)However, last year i changed jobs, split from my boyfriend (though happily we are reunited now and expecting our first child in October - i was hoping for a puppy but told it was physically impossible!!) and faced with the prospect of an imminent 30th birthday!!!! My bestfriend, who is the eternal optomist was reassurring me life was not a downward spiral said this change meant i was now free to do what i wanted to do, go where i wanted to go etc etc - Hell, i could even get that dog i'd always wanted!!!!! I picked woody up a week later from friends boarding kennels (he'd been abandoned - lucky really as i suppose there are worse places to dump a dog) This black & white cocker spaniel is the love of my life, even my boyfriend knows this and accepts it - which for someone who is a cat person is a big thing, he loves him too though will nver admit it - but iv caught him having a sly cuddle!!!!!
I can catorgorically say he was the best decision of my life - i just hope my newborn can live up to his/her four legged brothers reputation!!!!!!
