Okay, I know everyone who posts on this forum is exceedingly polite and good to their pets. However, I have noticed that many people keep apologizing for the length of their post. It is making me nuts, I wouldn't read them if I didn't want to know what was going on and the more information they give all of us the better off we are to toss in our 2 cents. So, make your posts as long as is needed to explain problems. I am not an advisor, just a reader putting in my 2 cents and if I could make this longer...I would! :)

:twocents: As long as Heather is putting her 2 cents in, I will too. If you are on this forum seeking help, you are NOT a bad parent! Anyone who is trying to get help or even just venting about something, does not make you a bad person. IF you need support, we are here!!! :twocents:

I agree with both of you--I really enjoy the long posts, gives all of us an idea of whatever problems are going on. We sort of get to know the problems. And problem solving with our dogs is a good reason for being here. I do have a question--is anyone here having a problem starting a new thread? I can reply to threads, but am getting an error message when I try to start a new thread.

Hmm...Alberta, you should be able to. If anyone else is having this problem, please let me know.
Alberta, what is the error message you are receiving?

Phew! I know I've apologized more than once about the length of a post or the number of responses (I posted 4 recipes the other day). It's good to know everyone else likes to gather/share information like me!

I did have trouble starting a thread yesterday. I was signed on to AOL at the time. When I got off AOL, I had no trouble starting a thread. Don't know if the 2 were related or not. I haven't tried starting a thread today.

Hi Colleen - Glad you found my message. The error message is as follows:
"Website not responding. The website you have requested may be experiencing technical difficulties due to a busy or broken server. Please try again by clicking the Reload icon on your navigation bar or, if that doesn't work, you may want to return to the site at a later time. 502 Connection Hangup"
I had decided to start a new thread with a question I had under defensive dogs on Sunday, which is when I discovered the problem. I did click the reload button, but the same message kept coming up. I then tried the my home computer and found the same problem. When I click on the new thread button, I, after a long time trying to load, get that message, on both computers, at all times of the day and night. I can however, reply to posts. I checked all of the forums here and found that I could get the new thread window on about 4 of them, puppies, dogfood, Announcements and Chat--however when I tried to post this problem under new thread on Chat, I got the message box for typing, and then it went back to that message. I did check to see the last time I started a new thread, which was March 27th--have no idea if this is of any help to you, but figured more information might be better than less.
Thanks, and I'll wait for your reply. And sorry guys--this is a long post.

I'm also one of the apologizers. My only excuse or explaination about my apologizing is on other forums I've been told I talk too much. Apologising gets to be a habit now. I'll cut it out. I'm sorry. WHOOPS just kidding ;) Seriously though, it's good to know that even the long posts are getting the attention as well as the shorter posts. :)

...Correct. Plus it spares others the time and effort having to ask for more detailed information on problems.
Keep in mind that it can be very difficult to judge situations over the net, so the more and more detailed info provided from the very beginning, the easier to help. :)
