Thanks, Jesse. I know we are all "proud parents". I was actually holding him there. He wanted to run around. ;)

Yeah, it's really nice to see the face behind the name and the posts. Does that make sense...I don't think I said that right. I like it when people post their pics up too, cos then you can see you who've been 'talking' to all this time! ;)

I concur Clair, that is the shiniest coat I have ever seen. I have always worked hard to maintain a shiny coat on my animals, but it really stands out on his black coat. That's the Nutro you feed him - along with some grooming care I assume.

I think that's what it is, Eric. But, he's just always had this shiny coat. If you check the then and now pictures, there's one of little Finn. I don't know if the light reflects off the black more or what. He does get brushed almost every day. Not for a long time, but a couple minutes while he eats breakfast. I started that when he was small, he kept trying to bite the brush, and the only time he didn't was when he was eating. Now, if I don't brush him in the morning, he lets me know that I forgot!! I also use the Purely for puppies shine spray mixed with neem oil before I brush him. I don't use it every day in the cold weather, but now that it's warmed up, he gets sprayed every day before brushing. He also gets brewers yeast-omega 3 fatty acid and garlic tabs every day.

I swear it amazes me how much he looks like Maggie. Except I do believe Maggie has bigger feet. Which is really scary - how big is she going to get! He is a beauty, and I thank you for sharing!

Finnegan is staying at 90 lbs. the last 3 or 4 times I've taken him in to weigh, it's been the same. I have actually cut down his food, only by 1/4 cup, but I may have to go back to the original amount, as he seems to be more active in the summer (arent' we all)? I think he has small feet for his size, except when he does his prancing thing and you see the webbs in between his toes! I don't thing he's going to get any taller, just fill out more. His chest seems to get wider every day. We'll have him swimming more this summer and that will build up the muscle.

Okay, Jill - now we're all jealous.... You'll have to remind us how little sleep a puppy mommy gets in the beginning. ;)

Enjoy all that sleep for the next 3 weeks!
The sleepless phase not so long (relatively speaking), but it doesn't seem so in the beginning. Yay for puppies!

I'd love to reach out and cuddle your new bundle of joy. He is one big fuzzy puppy. He looks bigger than my 3-1/2 pound full grown chi already! Did I miss where you said what kind of dog he is? Is he a lab? He looks like he is going to be a big boy! Did you say, how old is he and does he have a name yet?

Grace,
He's a yellow lab, 5 weeks old. His name is Fischer. I don't think he'll get as tall as Finnegan, but will be a large lab. I can't wait to bring him home!!

Oh Jill, new blonde puppies make me cry - I'm just bawling - it's ridiculous! I love blonde puppies - I've had 3 blonde dogs in my life. I love puppies, but there's something about blonde one's. Oh don't tell Finn or Maggie that though! I can just smell that puppy breath, and feel that soft puppy fur! What a nice birthday present you are getting!
I may have to bring my big black puppy inside to give her a hug now. I need a puppy fix!

I like that one of him sitting. He looks so little. Do you know what I love most about puppies? Their bellies. Their full little puppy bellies. You must be so excited!!
