Hmm, Need help uploading pics into post

Except for the gallery, when I am uploading pictures they are coming out as thumbnails, which would be ok but now and then I would like to make them post a bit larger within the body of the post.

What am I doing wrong?

If you have a photobucket or any other online photo place, you can upload pictures there, then copy the direct link to that image and paste it here using around the url (some direct links automatically add those tages around the url...I know photobucket has that). Otherwise, the photo has to be an attachment.
