This vet pressured me into a full geriatric blood panel before doing a dental cleaning on my healthy 3 year old chihuahua. Okay, I was stupid for letting her or for having her do a full panel.
Then I get it to take home since I don't want to use this what's called the Small Animal Hospital in Federal Way, WA, and it says on the test that for the Gamma ft, the sample was hemolyzed which I read means someone screwed it up for part of the test. It cost me $104. plus then later they told me there was an extra $9 to label it and send it out. Then I go in to pay it and get the paperwork for a new vet, and they want an exam fee which they never mentioned was part of the dental work and necessary and something that was not included in their pricing of dental work. I've been sooooo taken.
THEN, I was so worried because I thought they would do the dental work then, that I let the vet take my dog from me to get blood. When a vet takes a dog, it means that something ugly may happen you don't want to see.
THEN, the blood work says they cannot get an accurate platlet count due to clumping. The lab refused to explain it to me and the vet remained unavailable for the rest of the day (until they cashed my check).
Does anyone have any input on this? Was this a major screw up by the lab and/or vet. Should I sue for not having total results even if the gamma and platlets will not make a difference in her anesthesia and how she will react to it?
A thousand thank yous,
