Hi
My male puppy is 9months old, lab/sheppard....from 8 weeks old he started to nip and has continued onwards though out many months i've tried many things to stop this without any luck. Yes he has been neutered at 6 months.
These are the steps I've tried.

-holding his lower jaw for few minutes, as soon as i release him, he starts to nip again.
-say ouch many times out loud, fold my arms and walk way, but his follows and continues to nip at times i have put him in the kitchen with an baby gate, he gets frustrated starts to whin then chews on things.
-used bitter apple on my hands, he licks it off.
-have grab him by the scuff and have say no! may times as soon he is released he starts to nip again.
-have said no! ouch and given him is toy but he doesn't want it ...only to come back and jump on me for my fingers, arm or pant leg.

Is there any else i could possible try?
Still searching........tha nks.,

The best thing you can do is say ouch and ignore, ignore, ignore! You had it right, lol! Sounds like your problem is that you don't stay with one method. Don't worry I had the same problem. With so many people telling me what is good for my puppy and they all differ! It can make your head spin! Just stick with one and I promise it'll payoff. Consistency is key(oh gosh I sound like my mother!! ;) ) Do it every time he nips and you will definitely see an improvement. Keep us posted and good luck, Lauren

I agree with Lauren, consistency is key and so is patience, patience, patience. When Zeke nips, my saying "ouch" only exacerbates the situation. Instead, I've been putting a toy directly in his mouth and walking away. When I don't have a toy I tell him "no bite" and that works also. But to reiterate what Lauren said, every dog has his day and every dog is different... Good luck.
