Is it wrong for me to think... potty training, up in the middle of the night, puppy poop, not for me?
What a cute bunch. Aussie LOVES wee puppies, unfortunatley she is WAY too rough for them.

Lorie,
I know, don't remind me. At least this time, I won't have to fight the cold and snow in the middle of the night. I just hope this one will train as easy as Finn did. I don't know if we just got it right or what, but Finn peed inside only 5 times (that's because we didn't read the signs), and never pooped inside.
I really can't wait. It's the same breeder that we got Finn from, but different parents. All of their dogs are friendly, sweet dogs. We saw Finn's dad, Austin, who is now 11 yrs old and retired. The breeders thought Finn was gorgeous, and told us that we must be doing everything right.
They also told us to come early on Friday, 8 AM, so we could have first pick. Everyone else was told to come at 9.
Now, I can't wait. :dog:

These puppies are SOOOOOO cute!!! They look like little twinkies!! I've hardly seen such young, small pups. How exciting! Good luck picking - it must be hard since I would want all of them!!

I know. It's really going to be hard. They are all cute. My daughter is going with me. Hubby can't get off work. Important project. So, I'll be on my own. I just know if the puppy does something bad in the future, hubby will say: you picked him out. its' your dog!! LOL!!

jajaja Jill, your husband sounds just like mine... Whenever Nala does something bad he will say "its your dog, you brought her home" but when she's being and angel he says "that's my girl, that's daddy's little girl..." :???:

How are you ever going to choose? They are all just adorable. I love the scent of a puppy's breath it smells so clean and innocent.

I agree about the puppy breath. There's nothing like it. We have it narrowed down to Bodie or Fischer. But, I think we're going with Fischer. It will go so well with Finnegan. Fish & Finn! My husband likes it, too! I'll take pictures of the puppy after I've picked. I told my husband, are you sure you don't want to come with? I might decide on 2!!

I'm not sure what kind of puppy breath you guys are talking about cause my definition of "puppy breath" is UGH! It seems so bitter for the first few weeks. Clementine is getting better now though. :P
Good luck, Jill. Can't wait to see more pics!

They are so cute! I'm sure you are tired of hearing that but they are cute! The one you want will pick you out too. They always know who they like too. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

Very cute pups. I'll be looking forward to pictures of your new pups first trip to water. Just curious, does the breeder breed from show lines, working lines, or both?

Jill, they are adorable! Bet you are so excited! Poor Finn, what do you think he's going to do when you bring home a new sibling for him!

Let me see if I can answer all the questions.
Jarrod,
The breeder breeds from working lines. The dogs are usually too big for conformation. But many have the working titles. All of the studs & bitches(well, Finn's parents & Fischer's parents) I've met have been very friendly & sweet. Finn's parents have both been retired, and one of his half siblings-same father-is one of the studs now.
Cecile,
That's the big question, how is Finn going to react? I have to be sure he gets plenty of individual attention. I'm also going to take a towel on Friday to wipe down the puppy, and get his scent on it. Then I will wipe down Finn, so his scent is on it for the puppy. I'll keep doing that until we bring Fischer home, so they will be used to each others scent. They also put the mother's scent on it for when I take the puppy home.
My daughter is going with me on Friday to take pics, and then Rick & I will go back on Saturday so he can see "our" puppy.
Justine,
If this puppy potty trains half as easy as Finnegan did, I will be very happy.
I'll keep everyone posted.

I hope your puppy trains as easily as Finnegan as well - in the house and the rest of it! We have a 5-month-old pup and it's definitely been a challenge, but if I were doing it all again, I'm so much more prepared and knowledgeable than before we got Samson. Make sure you get plenty of sleep these next few nights, but it will be so worth it!

Jill, I'm sure Finn will be fine once he realizes he has a new playmate. And I'll bet you'll find the potty training easier with the second one because Finn will teach him. The only time I ever had trouble potty training was when I just had one dog ;)

Hey Cecile,
I'm sure it will be fine. We had 2 dogs for many years, up until 2003. So, it shouldn't be too much of a change. I hope!!!

Such cuties! Puppies have always had a very strange affect on me. They are so happy and adorable that....they make me cry! Yeah, my friends always tease me about that cos if there were puppies on tv or we passed one in the street, guaranteed I'd shed a tear or two, in happiness though!
Anyway, enough talk of my extreme weirdness! Jill, Finn may actually just ignore the pup to begin with. That's what my older dogs did when I brought home a new pup. May also take it on as his new baby and coddle it!
Also having older dogs was brilliant for training because they helped me train the pup! She NEVER had accidents in the house, NEVER nipped and would just follow what the older dogs did, even when it came to things like not going in the kitchen and sitting on command! I'm not talking about Gum Gum by the way, this is my dogs that I had when I lived in Malaysia.
Well, good luck in the decision making! It's a difficult thing! LOL Take care!
Rowena xoxox
P.S. I love puppy breath! I'm quite upset that Gum Gum doesn't have it anymore actually. I do love to smell her sleepy 'toast' paws though and her neck cos she's a poodle she's not 'dog smelly' but has her own nice smell.

Thanks for the input, Rowena. I know at the dog park, Finn ignores the puppies, but there are other dogs for him to play with.
ONLY 2 MORE DAYS!!

Darn, I wish I could go with you! Then I'd just have to pick one out too! Like I need another pet around here - with 3 big dogs, 3 cats, and a recent addition of a bird.

And I just wanted to commend you on adopting 2 furbabies... I wish I could have done that but it took me 2 months to sell enough stuff on ebay to pay what Cassie cost me.. I just love looking at your profile picture.. They are gorgeous!
