Hi,
I know someone with a make chi who was attacking her female. She just fixed him and he is still at it again. I wonder if it takes time for the hormones to leave the body and that maybe he will calm down?
I also wonder if his aggression has become learned behavior and will it continue even though the male hormones are gone????
Thanks,
Grace

I'm not sure with dogs, but I know that it takes over 72 hours for hormone levels in humans to drop.

I heard that it takes 6 weeks, but I would ask your vet.

Judy and Amber, thanks, I will let my friend know. It will give her hope that her male chi might calm down.
Amber, I will suggest to her that she ask the vet too.

Neutering might temper the behavior of a dog who is territorial over breeding rights but won't do a thing for a dog who is resource guarding.
I'd suggest your friend have her dogs evaluated by a behaviorist.
