Please remember to adhere to these rules when posting in this forum.

1) Always cite the source (including URL of the original article if it had been found on the web -- if it hadn't, then you can just name the source).

2) Please always quote at least some of the article, instead of just posting a URL only. Very often, news sites eventually expire the location of the article (or it vanishes altogether), and it helps to have a little description just in case they do! This way people can comment on it in the future, even if the source article is gone.

3) Only quote no more than 75% or so of the article. The link to the source will take care of the rest. This is done to avoid copyright issues.

4) When quoting the article, please make sure you lay it out properly. Sometimes when copying/pasting line breaks don't translate well making all that was quoted seem like a run on sentence, etc. Please try to keep it as neat and tidy as possible!

5) Always do a search for the story you want to post to make sure it has not already been posted here.

**Please include the date with each news posting, thank you**

Here are a couple of examples of how to follow the News Stand posting rules

Please try to follow these guidelines. It makes the articles easier to read, and a lot of times, news websites will often move their articles to an archive. That leaves the links obsolete and useless and the posts don't make any sense. At least if part of the article is copied, and the title of the article is also visible, and there's a source link at the bottom, people can look up the article in that website's archives. If they don't know the name of the article, the date the article was written and a little piece of the article to identify it in the archives, then they will not be able to read the articles posted.
