View Full Version : What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

It's seems like spring here in southern Ohio. Cold frosty mornings but the afternoons are warm & breezy. Temps have been as high as 70 a couple of days recently but mostly in the high 50's low 60's. My chestnut trees have buds on them. I usually have them trimmed in Jan. but now I'm afraid to do it. Although if I don't they are going to be hitting the house. I don't know what to do about them. I actually saw a forsythia bush starting to bloom a few days ago. If winter returns, and I'm betting it will, it going to wreck havoc on the foliage. :(
So what's the weather like where you are? Is anyone else experiencing unseasonally nice weather?

I live in South-East Texas and we don't get snow or anything but it has been warmer than ususal this winter. currently we are having 50-60 degree weather and some rain. Though for the last couple of weeks we have had mid to upper 70s in temp
so yea we are also having unusual weather

I'm in Nashville and its been raining non-stop all morning. Our pups wait to go outside until they absolutely cannot hold it any longer...and they barely make it a few steps out the door!

I'm in central Ohio and though it's been warmer than usual, it's wet. I was just wondering this evening (while picking up poop) if the backyard is ever going to dry out. I've got a nice mud trench going around some of my trees and wiping the paws is getting very old (for all of us);)

We were working on beating a previous record for more than 33 days of consecutive rain. I don't think we made it, might have stopped short at 28 days, but other areas of WA did get rain, so....
Chihuahuas hate to go out in the rain to do their business. If I open the door and Capri hears the rain, she turns around swiftly and heads back to her bed. She tries to go out again later and if it's still raining, she goes on her puppy pad.

We too were having unusually warm weather. In fact Ft. Chipewyan made a few news channels because of how warm it is, and because our winter road could not open. We are fly-in only for 9 months of the year, and usually have a road from mid-December to mid-March. But this year the road just opened on Friday, which is really really late. There might not be enough ice for the big trucks to come up with fuel and propane. Don't know what we'll do then!
Right now I'm in Lutsel K'e, and the temp here is -20C with a wind chill of -29C right now. It's supposed to be -30 with a windchill of -42C tomorrow! We walked for 20 minutes tonight, but I think I'll skip tomorrow!

I live in St. Petersburg, FL - Tampa Bay area. We've been enjoying nice cool weather with low humidity . . .and then wham! Hot and humid for a few days ugh! Even the Poodles love the cool, fresh air - they get so energetic and play Indy 500 racing out in the back yard! LOL

At home in Michigan it's colder than you can imagine. But I'm not in Michigan I'm in Florida for the winter, so I'm having mid 70's every day, sunshine and loving every minute of it.

I'm in NC and it's hot and cold here about every other day. 70+ degrees one day, 40 degrees the next. I wish mother nature would make up her mind! ......sigh
Today it's got to about 60 degrees....

I'm in Southern California and it has been sunny but cold ( at least for us babies here in California). I realize having lived back east when I was young, that it never really gets cold here but I am still freezing at night. Good thing I have my foot and leg warmers! Now if I could just get them to stop hogging the bed!

Well, I just got back from walking Sailor... it is a 'balmy' -20C right now..... we missed two days of walking because it was -47C with the windchill. Sometimes I have to wonder what the heck I am doing up here where you can freeze your skin in two minutes or less!!!

It is currently 20F here in chilly Wisconsin...low tonight of 16F....not going to get better either. Windy today w/ snowshowers and wind for Thursday.
I would rather have the 50's, 60's and 70's w/ rain....at least there is no ice to walk and drive on.

Well it was a windy 64 today here in South East Texas. We are due for a light frost tonight and maybe some rain in the next day or so....I will be thrilled when summer is here since i really hate the cold as do the furbabies...
We have had so much rain. Wind and rain, and rain and wind. I was so glad when the weatherman predicted a full week of sunshine!! My grass is tall and soaked. The boys go out and play, but come in muddy faces (mole hills) and all kinds of things stuck to their white hair.
I am soooo ready for Spring!
