Basically it's a quickie post box for short messages, alerts, or anything else a user may like to share in a fast fashion.. Blurbs such as "QUICK! TURN ON CNN NOW!" or "wow i've missed this place!" would be pretty relevant. ;)

It can be used by any registered members.

The shoutbox doesn't show up on my comp. It says loading.... but never actually loads anything. I tried posting a message to see if that worked but still nothing but the loading message. Anybody else having this trouble or is it just me?

Hey Stefie!

What browser are you using and version? What version of Windows are you running as well?

Do you have another browser on your computer you can test it with?

It *should* work on Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari (Mac) and any other recent browsers unless there is some sort of setting not permitting it...

Jason, I am using Windows XP Pro for an op. system and Opera 7.52 for a browser. I tried a newer version of Opera (7.54) and the shoutbox wouldn't load in that one either. I also tried usn IE and it did load then. Thanks for looking into this. I'd say forget it and I'll just start using IE or doing without the shoutbox but I see others are having the same trouble. Thanks so much for the info! Would you be willing to try moving to Opera 8.51 (the uberlatest) and testing again for us? I have positive reports that it works better with that version?

I was using AOL, and it wasn't loading.
I have switched to Internet Explorer, and it's working fine.

Hi Jason, I'll be glad to but it might be a couple of days. I'm having some comp. issues so I don't think I'll try to d/l anything until my comp. guru (my son) has a chance to check out this old dinosaur of a comp. for me. I'll let you know what happens.

Hi Jason, I finally got a new version of Opera downloaded and the shoutbox works perfectly. I'm using version 8.53.

Yes. I am pleased too. Several other sites that I've had trouble with are working now too.
