Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog? I have just started it, and it's cute so far. It's not a training book, but a story written by a journalist (one I'm not familiar with, John Grogan) about his dog. He's huge, a drooler, destructive, gets kicked out of obedience school, etc., etc. But, as the author says, he was joyful and his heart was pure. Just wondering if anyone has read it. Hopefully, it will continue to be a happy book. It's making me laugh right now, since I thought Spanky had been the world's worst puppy.

Well, I finished the book. It was very entertaining, and the kind of antics he describes that probably all dog owners can relate to. He tells about the life of his dog through the series of events that you can probably look back on and laugh at, but, at the time, are not so funny......when the extremely large puppy is destroying everything in the house, etc. However, through all the bad behavior, he paints his dog as being happy, joyful, full of love and loyalty...all the traits that draw people to Labs, as Marley was, and really all dogs intended to be members of the family. Of course, Marley doesn't live forever, so it does have a sad time in it. But it is, for the most part, a very funny, cheerful book that tells the story of a dog who has worked his way into this family's heart, bad behavior and all.
