My Beagle Rat Terrier (Baxter) likes to lick my husbands pillow cases, my husbands ears, and the top of my husbands head...He leaves my pillow cases alone and doesn't bother my ears. I have too much hair for him to try my head, but I don't think he would as he only seems to like my husbands ears and pillow case. Does anyone know what would cause this behavior, or why he likes to lick my husbands ears, pillow cases and head?

Hi Sherri!
Seems to me like your husband has a smell that your dog is particularly drawn to. It could be your husband's soap, aftershave, shampoo, cologne, sweat, moisturizer or anything...or even just his own smell! You could try using some of his products to see if it's one of those if you like!

Could it be he sweats more? Dogs love salt. Your husband may be a salt block for your dog? My Beagle does the same thing to my boyfriend...unless I have been working out, then he trys to do the licking to me. :)

I told my husband I posted this question out here and he said right away "it is because I sweat more than you, and since my head is shaved and yours is full of hair, he can get the sweat from there as well"..
Thanks for the thoughts.. Nice to know my dog is not the only one who does this on a consistant basis...
