Hey everybody, I have a 7 yr old mini schnauzer girl unneutered, she had her last heat on Jan-Feb 2005, but this weekend she showed a clear discharge, like the one they get when their stage is finishing, she also showed a change in behavior, she was more anxious, her water intake increased (although it may be due to the recent increase of temperature, this weekend was around 70 degrees), she seems more moody and needy... I was thinking she might be having the false pregnancy thing... anybody know a website were I can get more information about it and also about the other disease related to heat (periometosis or something like that?????) My vet is out of town and I still can't reach him...
Thanks

Hi there, at the moment there is very little you can do as this usually relates to hormones so this would need to be checked out first with blood tests at the vets. You don't have a locum vet whilst yours is away?
How long ago was she spayed? has this happened before, discharge or behaviour?

Hey Sam, great to see your on board!!!
Well, she has not been spayed, when she was younger she was a show dg and was bred with another schnauzer (I didn't show her, she had a trainer-shower), eventually she got older and we just left it to time :-( anyway, she is not spayed and had her last heat stage around 2 months ago, she has never showed that late discharge before, and yes, at the vet hospital there's another vet that's on call when you need it... I'll make an appointment for a full checkup, she's getting old (she'll be 8 in june) and has never been really sick.
Thanks
