Found out Sally's true breed!

The owner of Sally's brother found a book with a Tibetan Spaniel in it and said he thought that was what our dog's were. I contacted the person who runs the Tibetan Spaniel website www.tibbies.net and sent her a picture of Sally. She replied back saying that if she saw Sally in a shelter, she would have rescued her as a Tibetan Spaniel. She has a lot of behavioral characteristics of a Tibbie as well; Tibbies are a pretty rare breed.

What cuties! Your story reminded me of the small dog my ex and I had (he still has her). She's definately a mutt, and a funny looking one at that, but I loved her right from the start. My ex wasn't so sure, he thought she was ugly, especially compared to the purebred chocolate lab. My sister found a rare breed that looks a lot like her, and sent us a picture. She thought that maybe my ex would like her more if we thought of her as a rare breed instead of the mutt she is. I wish I could remember the name of the breed... I'll have to ask her.

I had never heard of the Tibetan Spaniel until this topic came up. They look very much like Pekingese, which I guess is why everyone thought she was a Pekingese/Shih-Tzu mix. I still think she has some Shih-Tzu in her though because of her stance and her longer nose. I don't really care what breed she is, but it's fun to find out...or at least guess!
