Last night, I got home from bowling league about 10, and took my mutts, Bonzo and Maggie for their late night walk. Tiny the cat (2 yrs. old) decided he wanted to go to, and followed us for the entire walk, wandering around a bit as he did. I made it shorter, because I was paranoid he would lose us, and we were way past the area he knows (he goes out regularly), but I kept talking to him and he just followed along behind and never let us out of sight.

He and the dogs get along well, an hour ago he was licking Maggie when they were both lounging at my side, grooming her, which he also does with Bonzo, who pretty much raised him from when he was dumped on my porch at 8 weeks old with his sister (thankfully I found a good home for her). He regularly curls up with Bonzo, and Maggie when she's too sleepy to chew on him.

They also harass each other regularly, but the cat gives as good as he gets, and he starts it half the time. He likes to get in the bathtub, and lunge in and out whacking Maggie, who will go about anywhere she can but the bathtub.

Tiny is a great cat with dogs because he grew up with one who treated him well (Yay for Bonzo!), played with him, tortured him a bit in fun, and loved him. Before I gave in and let Bonzo sleep on the bed, his bed was right next to mine, and Tiny would always come up and get his lovin' from me, but always moved to the floor and curled up with Bonzo for the night. Now they all sleep on the bed, though Bonzo has recently been dragging his bed into the hall so he can keep an eye out for my mother who is staying with us.

I'm lucky now in that my critters are 1 (Maggie), 2 (Tiny), and 3 (Bonzo), and we have many years ahead together, in peace, love, and harmony.

Okay I'll shut up now.

My sister lives on a farm, and until she married her husband and moved in, all the cats were pretty much wild. She's a vet and didn't think it was right, so began taming them, gave them all their shots, neuter/spay, etc. Now when she goes out in the yard or around the farm or walking in the field, she usually has the dog and at least a couple of cats trailing along behind her. I think it's hillarious! Just like the Pied Piper with all the animals following along!

I think it's going to be a regular thing on our night walk, he seems to like it, and I'm sure it looks funny to anyone watching. I also like it because he's joining in on what is basically a dog thing, and we're happy to have him, silly cat that he is, there's nothing better than having all the kids hang happily together.

We have a wild cat that hangs around outside, Everytime we take the dogs out, he tries to play with them. He'll run up behind them when their not looking and pounce on them, then they chase eachother around the yard. It's very comical to watch.

That has to be the cutest story! I love the image of your cat following you guys on your walk and sleeping with the dogs.
