Kind of a long story but a good out come. My brother and sister in law moved back from Alaska to California a few weeks ago. She is in the coast guard so they were not sure of their living arragements yet. We had planned that they would just stay at our house until everything was finalized. Our only concern is that they have a male and female dog both are pit bulls. We have 2 males, 1 pit bull and 1 rottie/lab/pit mix. We have a large yard and alot of options. we have 1/2 the yard divided with a rod iron fence and we have a dog door off there into a sunroom and then in the house too. So we could juggle if need be.
First day introductions My older mix, and their 2 started out ok, then we brought out my 4 yr. pit bull and the female went after him. So that made my older male (mix) feel the need to defend his brother. It was only a small scuffle since we had 4 people out there just in case. Well they went away camping for awhile and we went to join them with my pit bull for the weekend. Come to find out they felt the female just was the real aggressor in the mix and she just has that personality. She got along really good with their mothers dog so she is living with them. Max (my pit bull) and their male (bizkit) got along great. Then when we got home all 3 of them are great together. We even found Max and Mr. Bizkit sleeping on the dog bed in the kitchen together. Max never lets another dog on his bed with him. It was sooooo cute him curled up and Mr. Bizkit snuck up there and had his head resting on Max's butt. So it was the female that stirred the pot. Everyone is happy, they go and visit Sierra (the female) on the weekends and stay with her. When they get their own place they will get her back but it was best for everyone.
