I got one of those laser light toys. I've had 3 people tell me that their dogs LOVE them and will play forever with it. One even told me that her dog gets excited when he hears the chain it's on jingle. Well, my puppy is quite a playful fellow. He plays all day. He seems to have no OFF button. However, we can't get him to chase the laser. Anybody out there tried this with their puppies with no luck?
I guess this will now be one of the cats' toys!!

Be careful not to shine it in the dog's eye. I know it sounds like common sense, but my father in-law thought it would be funny to shine it in the eye of my cat. I didn't catch this the first few times but when I did, I was not real nice about it. Also shouldn't shine very bright lights (powerful flashlights) into the eyes of pets. They have very sensative eyes that can be easily damaged.
However, I do use flashlights to run my cat around periodically. I don't have a laser light (or at least one with working batteries - they die pretty fast). But he loves any moving shadow or light beam.

Yes, I heard my husband warning my 10 year old not to shine it in his the pets eyes. Fortunately, you have to hold the button down for the light to stay on, too. I haven't tried the cats yet, but the puppy lost interest immediately when he couldn't catch it.

My cats love to chase the light of a flashlight or my laser pointer. Haven't tried it on the dogs though.
