My 15 week old Akita/Border Collie mix puppy has demodectic mange and I have been treating him holistically with vitamin a, e, c, colostrum and echinacea supplements. Because of the Vitamin C, he gets a little loose stool which I counterbalance with pumpkin mixed with his solid gold kibble.

Do you guys know if pumpkin gives dogs gas? I find that when I give him the pumpkin, if his stools were loose, they do get better right away, but he has been really gassy.
He has been on the Solid Gold for about 3 weeks and I noticed he has been really gassy the last couple of days where I have given him more pumpkin.

Pumpkin is a squash, and yes it causes gas. Someone help me out if I'm wrong on this, but wouldn't sweet potato be better to use in this case?

Would I just boil the sweet potato and smoosh it into his food like the pumpkin? Glad to hear his stinky farts are because of the pumpkin and not something worse.

I think my dog doesn't fart, then she starts wanting to sit in my lap when I'm on the computer. Then she starts patting me on the front of me with her paw so I pick her up in my arms as I use the mouse, and then I find out, she farts!!!! I think it's a necessity for humans and dogs alike and it's a good sign to an extent to release gas.
