There are so many on the market that I want to make sure and get the right one. He is starting t shed with the warmer weather and I want to know which one to get for him as I have never had a dog with this type of fur. Any advice is always greatly appreciated :)
Thanks in advance,
Ursula

I would suggest something short. There are gloves you can purchase from pet stores like petsmart or petco that have a rubber brush on one side which does an OK job. Also in places like that they have other brushes or combs that are good with short haired dogs. Shedding blades are a possibility which dogs seems to like. It looks like it would be uncomfortable but it does a great job of getting the loose hairs out. Also some of the rubber soft brushes are very soothing for them. I don't particularly like the bristle brushes for short haired dogs because the wires can be a little scratchy to the dog's skin. The softer brushes or the wired ones with little rubber protectors on the bristles are good too.

I have found the rubber-bristle brushes like the Zoom Groom to work well with short haired dogs.

I use a slicker brush and curry comb.

It makes a difference with what type of coat your dog has. What breed is your dog?
Lesly, Maddy, & Bo (we use Pin brushes, slickers, and a Poodle comb)

We have a 15 week old Beagle and he is definitely shedding so we want to get the best brush for the job :)
