I am looking for opinions on Greenies. Misty loves them and she really needs to chew. She has a few hard rawhide type bones that I monitor her very carefully when she needs to chew. She does not like nylabones at all. Is it ok for her to consume the entire Greenie?

It's ok for her to eat the entire greenie-just make sure she chews it well. My dog can't have greenies because he swallows big chunks of it. Don't get rid of the nylabones though because she may decide to like them some day.

I seem to remember that the instructions say you shouldn't feed your pet more than one a day and maybe not even that frequently. Greenies make my dogs poop green and runny if he eats them a few days in a row. I only use them as occasional treats, not the primary teething tool. Make sure you have the right size for her weight too!

Hi Ann,
My girl loves her greenies. They never caused any problems with her. I give her about 1x a day and as mentioned before make sure its the right size for your furbaby.

I give Maximus one greenie every Saturday morning. I make sure I watch him as he's eating it though. He has been known to hide them (usually behind the loveseat or in the bathroom underneath the cabinet) so I pay close attention if decides to carry it off somewhere. He really likes to eat them and for a "small" dog he really can chew...I bet he gets thru it in 20 minutes or less!

My Baxter loves his greenies as well. He will have one for the longest time because he chews it a little, will bury it and go and get it later and repeat the same again and again. I have been told by my trainer that greenies are great for dogs, but should not be a substuitute for brushing their teeth.
