Is there a back-up for this site?

One of the other forums I'm involved with, is getting a lot of new members coming to us, because the forum they were in was brought down by an unscrupulous person. I understand this site was once called "Doggie Door". Is this what happened to you guys?

Is there any way to set up a backup system, so if we all get lost, people have a place to meet back up? I would hate to lose all of the wonderful conversations, book reconmmendations, and advice from some of the trainers and other folks.

I think there was a glitch in the system and doggie door crashed. I don't think anyone intentionally tried to bring it down.... Everything was lost. Brandy Oliver was the owner of Doggie door http://www.cynologycollege. com/scbsfaculty.html

Brandy chose not to not to put doggie door up again. Colleen Egan decided to pick up where doggie door left off and opened this forum - now we are rebuilding. I'm certainly not as computer savy as some, but I don't think that there is anyway to back this forum up - not without taking on another serious expense. Perhaps someone with more website building experience can comment.

In most cases, the web host backs up the data in the event there is a crash. I was surprised that Doggie Door didn't have a backup, but it must've meant her host didn't back up the site, which is uncommon. In the event of a crash, I should be able to restore the site pretty quickly without losing much! At least, that's the idea!

Here is an email from Brandy Oliver concerning her crash...

We had a triple whammy:
1. the server crashed
2. the back up was corrupt
3. my personal hard drive crashed

All of these things happen, but I've never heard of all three happening in the same time frame. Thanks for the email.
