I have a 6 month old yorkie and a five year old yorkie (Lilly and Daisy). Daisy had a sister named Dolly that died in January from renal failure - she was a wonderful little baby and I miss her terribly. Lilly is my new puppy - she is six months old and a real bundle of energy. She plays really rough and is extremely funny. Daisy, our five year old yorkie, has become very playful as a result of Lilly's antics. The breeder where Dolly and Daisy came from felt very badly about Dolly's health problems and promised me a free puppy when his next litter was ready. I was very thankful for his offer, however, I could not wait six months to bring a new puppy into my home - my heart was broken and I needed a new baby to love, so I purchased Lilly from a different breeder. Now here is the situation: A new puppy is now ready and he has offered her to me. I would just love to have three dogs in my home, but I am worried because of Lilly's energy level, she might be too much for a new little puppy to deal with. What should I do??? Should I just get the new puppy and watch things closely, or should I wait until Lilly is a little older and maybe a little calmer??? Will she ever be a little calmer? I am going to get very serious with training her - up until this point in time, I have just been enjoying her antics and stepping in when necessary. At first, Daisy was not thrilled with Lilly and would growl and snap at her, but after one week together, they started playing and are now getting along just fine! Any suggestions on this situation? Should I wait, or should I just get the puppy and let things work themselves out??????
