OK, kinda strange question but I am not sure how these things work......I have Gwen (3 months) and my sister has a 4 month old puppy (can't remember the breed...really cute though). My sister will be pet sitting for a week in July. I have been driving out to her house or she comes to mine with her pup so they can get used to each other. Here is my real question.....When are they no longer playing??......We were at my sister's house over the weekend and the dogs were going crazy on each other. There wasn't much growling or barking, just tons of wrestling. It looked like they were getting serious (lots of teeth and guns showing). So we would seperate them. 30 seconds later, they were right back at it. How long will it take them to get used to each other?? I plan on having a lot of visits the next few weeks but I am scared! They seem to get so serious. Gwen had hairs standing up on her neck and back, but she was wagging her tail. Is there anything I can do to help??

My dogs wrestle and make many noises. They show there teeth and sometimes do seem to look upset. But they keep playing until they wear themselves out. I wouldn't seperate them until you are sure it is serious. Sounds to me like they are being puppies and just having a good time.

Maggie is 2 and my moms dog is 1, they wrestle like there is no tomorrow. Maggie lets Gabby know when she has had enough...the growls get a little more loud and Gabby backs off for awhile (5 min tops) and then they are right back at it.

i think you can give it about 2 to 3 days for them to settle down. that's how long it took for my two to settle down. they still wrestle and play like crazy but not like the first few days when it was TOTALLY NON STOP.

Thanks all. I have been a nervous wreck lately thinking about leaving her for a week. My sister has always had dogs and she lives on a lot of land in the country so I know Gwen will be alright. I feel better knowing that's the way dogs act!
