Feed Merrick? Your dog sick?

I've been super busy for the past two weeks and wanted to drop in to give you guys my experience with Merricks wet food. About a month or so ago I posted in the chat forum about my dog being sick and not being able to figure out what was wrong with him. His tummy would grumble, he wouldnt eat anything all day, and he was obviously not feeling well. Turns out it was the Merrick. I have no idea as to why this could be but have stopped feeding and have a happier doggy on my hands. I am not saying to not feed the food or anything, but I am simply posting this for anyone who comes along and has a similar problem. :) I've never fed the dry Merrick btw.

I do feed my dog the Merrick's Grammy's Pot Pie on occasion and have fed her the Thanksgiving Dinner with no problem. I don't know what to think about this.

It could have been the food, that there was something wrong with it or your dog could have just been ill from something else. It seems you have come to the conclusion it was from the Merrick canned food, because you must have eliminated other causes like something he ate in the enviornment or treats etc. It's damn expensive, so it better not be getting your dog ill from something in the food. I pay about $1.95 per can for Grammy's, not that it would be okay for cheap food to get a dog ill.

Could it have been an ingredient in the food? I've fed Merrick canned without issue in the past, too. I only use it in Kongs for a treat not as the main meal, but it's never been an issue. Which type did you feed? Just curious.

I've given my dog Kong liver paste and that made him sick, though, whereas I haven't heard of anyone else having problems with it.

I think that it is something in the Merrick. I fed the Grammys Pot Pie, Cowboy cookout, Thanksgiving Dinner, and Turducken.
The wet food was one of the last things I eliminated too, bc at 1.99 a can I thought theres no way its making my dog sick dammit!
And Shaddy loves the kongs liver paste btw! :)
