The other day my dog got scared and she excreeted her anal glands on our stairs, and it was all over the wall and some carpet. I cleaned up everything using the Nature's miracle. But now there's this rotten egg smell. I've used febreeze, then cleaned all the stairs and sprayed nature's miracle. It still stinks!
How do I get the rotten egg smell out of my house?? My next thought was to spray bleach water on the walls, I'm just at a loss. Walking in my house is awful! HELP!

I have never experienced that but I would give it a try with the bleach, you can also try with vinegar, that's what I use to get rid of the pee smell, maybe it works...
Good luck and so sorry to hear about the smell!!!!!!! :x

Eeeek! I've never heard of a dog excreting their anal glands like that before, I thought it wasn't possible. As far as I understand it, because dogs have been domesticated for so long, they lost the ability and need to excrete their anal glands for marking.
Anyway, not important, sorry! Ummm, I've read that the discharge from a dogs anal glands is a bit like the musk that skunks spray, so maybe you could try whatever is used to get rid of skunk smell. I'm not sure, I've never even seen a skunk before, but isn't it tomato juice or something like that. Not sure you want that on your walls, but worth a try as a last resort! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful! Good luck, and let us know what happens!

I've had that happen. The best thing to do is to dampen a rag or scrub brush, take some disinfectant and get scrubbing! I know anal glands SSSTTTIIINNNKKK!

Hmmm, try thr stuff used to get the skunk smell off dogs and stuff, sold at PetsMart. About excreting the glands. It has nothing to do with marking if they do it when they are scared. Whiskey didn't like baths at first and would let his go every time I gave him a bath. Now it sorta just happens on it's own whenever I give him a bath. Well, stuff only comes out every once in awhile, but I can "smell the smelly smell that smella" every time I give him a bath. ~Lauren

That sounds terrible. To get rid of skunk smell you do use tomato juice/sauce... but I wouldn't recommed that for your walls or rug because it'll stain (of course). Have you tried Lysol on the walls? That might work. Also depends on what kind of paint you have because some are easier to clean than others. I would suggest asking at either your pet store to see if they have anything or even a hardware store to see if they know how to clean paint/wall paper. I'd imagine they know how to clean stuff that smells really bad there.
Good Luck!

Tika expressed hers in the lobby of the vet's office due to fear. they told me it was cause they were really full.
You might try the vineager and if you can get it there are several things that supposedly work like urine gone and other things like that.....good luck

I don't remember the portions but this is supposed to neutralize skunk smell: dish soap, baking soda, peroxide, water....a little that, a little this. It worked when my dog got sprayed last summer so it might work.
